Principles

Values

The two principles behind every decision we make.

Our values

We have two values. Fewer would leave something out; more would make them interchangeable with every other app.

Simple

We leave out what isn't needed, also when that means not catching an edge case our customers don't have. Every screen, every sentence and every invoice line has to earn its place. Simple is not the same as little: an app that stops your parking action on time with your phone off does a lot, so that you don't have to.

This is the you don't have to think about half of our idea.

Fair

Fair covers both what you pay and what you see. A fair price, no subscription, no tiers. You know what it costs before you start, including our own fee and the cost of a top-up. Every amount on an invoice can be traced back to the parking actions behind it. When something goes wrong, on your side or ours, we say what happened and why.

This is the at a price you already know half.

What happened to transparent and reliable

  • Transparent is part of Fair. We used to explain the difference between the two; a value that needs that explanation is one value.
  • Reliable is not a value but a promise every parking app has to keep. We don't claim it, we prove it in the product: the end time is enforced on our servers, the reminder comes before the parking action ends, and support answers on WhatsApp, also at night. For organizations, where trust in a young supplier is the real question, those proofs go up front (see positioning).

How they sound

The words that go with them are on tone of voice.

How they show up in the product

ValueIn the product
SimpleStart parking in a few taps. Set an end time and walk on. One app for business and private parking. Features that only some customers need stay out of everyone else's way.
Fair€ 0.29 per parking action, € 0.29 per top-up, no subscription, and both are shown before you pay. No fee where parking is free. Zone, rate and maximum parking time before you start. One invoice a month, recalculable down to the parking action. A blocked parking action says why it is blocked.

When values pull in different directions

  • Fair wins from simple when it comes to money. A cost may never be hidden to make a screen cleaner. That is the whole idea: parking you don't have to think about, at a price you already know.
  • Safety wins from simple when a missing safeguard could cost someone a fine.
  • Simple wins everywhere else. When in doubt, leave it out.
