Introduction

Positioning

Where SimplePark sits in the market and what we own.

In one sentence

SimplePark is the parking app without surprises afterwards: you see what it costs before you start, and we stop on time.

The idea and the promises

The idea. Parking you don't have to think about, at a price you already know. It steers what we make, how it looks and how it moves (see our story). It is not a line we put in front of customers on its own.

The promise to drivers. You see what it costs before you start, our € 0.29 included. And we stop on time, also when your phone is off.

The promise to organizations. Your team barely notices parking. You see every cent, on one invoice that adds up.

Every claim in these promises is in the product today. That is the test for any new one.

Who we are for

People who park are the brand. Drivers in the Netherlands who park on the street, whether that is once a month or every day, and want it over with. They don't want to count change, figure out a machine, choose the wrong zone or pay a subscription before they have even parked. They are where people get to know SimplePark, and the proof that it works.

Organizations get the same promise at team level. From the freelancer and the small team to the company with a large fleet. Our sweet spot is the team whose people park now and then: field staff, freelancers, small teams, where a subscription per employee costs more than the parking itself. The person who chooses us is the owner, the office manager or the fleet manager who is tired of expense claims and wants one invoice.

We don't pretend the two are the same conversation. A driver wants to know it works and what it costs. A buyer also wants to know who is behind it, what they control and how it lands in the books. Business pages answer those questions first.

The category

What we say we areA parking app.
What people compare us withConsumers: the app they already have (EasyPark, Yellowbrick, Parkmobile) and the parking meter. Organizations: business accounts with a subscription per employee, and doing nothing (expense claims).
What we own within itThe parking app without surprises afterwards. We don't invent a new category; we take the one people already understand and own the moment others get wrong: what happens after you park.

The landscape

Two questions separate the players: how you pay (a subscription, a fee per action, or a small fee per use that you see up front) and how the product feels (a toolbox of features, or a quiet app that gets out of the way).

  • The premium apps (EasyPark, Yellowbrick, Parkmobile) compete on breadth: countries, features, partnerships.
  • The basic options (SMSParking, Stadsparkeren) keep to the essentials.
  • SimplePark sits at the quiet end of both questions: pay per use with one visible fee, in an app that gets out of the way. For organizations: overview and one invoice.

We say how others position themselves and never judge them, and we leave out prices, because those change.

What makes us different, honestly

Our price is not our moat. Any competitor can launch a plan without a subscription tomorrow. Pay per use is how we win the people and teams who park now and then; it does not protect us.

What is harder to copy:

  • A product built around the moment after parking. Stopping on our servers when the phone is off, the reminder, the invoice that recalculates to the last parking action. These are choices in how the product is built, not lines in a price list.
  • Saying no. Simplicity holds only as long as we keep refusing features that make the app harder for everyone else. Apps that compete on comparison tables can't afford that.
  • The organization's invoice. Once a team's members, license plates and bookkeeping run through SimplePark, switching is work. That is where we earn loyalty, and why organizations are where we are going (see our story).

Positioning statement

For drivers. For drivers in the Netherlands who want parking over with, SimplePark is the parking app without surprises afterwards, because you see the rate and our € 0.29 before you start, we stop your parking action on our servers at the end time, and there is no subscription.

For organizations. For organizations whose people park now and then for work, SimplePark Business puts business and private parking in one app and all business parking on one invoice that adds up to the last parking action, without a subscription per employee.

In our own words, the way we would say it to a customer: Parked in seconds. And you always know what it costs.

Proof

Every claim we make rests on something in the product.

A headline may name the € 0.29 per parking action alone. The full picture, including the € 0.29 per top-up, is always one click away, and no headline may say or suggest that there is nothing else to pay. Our story and every page that explains the price name the top-up fee in the same breath.

  • € 0.29 per parking action, no subscription. No fee where parking is free.
  • € 0.29 per top-up, whichever way you pay. With automatic collection there is no top-up.
  • You see the zone, the rate and the maximum parking time before you start.
  • Set an end time and we stop the parking action for you, even when your phone is off. We remind you before it ends.
  • One invoice a month, for consumers and organizations, and every invoice can be recalculated from the parking actions on it.
  • Business and private in one app. Choose who pays when you start; the organization gets one monthly invoice.
  • Support on WhatsApp, around the clock.

The parking rate goes entirely to the municipality. That reassures, so it may appear in help texts and FAQs, but it is not a differentiator: within the national parking register it holds for every provider, and presenting it as our advantage suggests the others take a cut.

What business pages must answer

A buyer at a young supplier asks more than a driver does. Business pages answer these, and claim only what the product does on the day the page goes live:

  • Who is behind it. SimplePark B.V., how we are connected to the national parking register, support around the clock. Facts, not "three students".
  • What it costs for my team. What SimplePark Business costs, named, and a worked example (for instance 12 employees who each park 3 times a month) against a subscription per employee.
  • What the organization sees. Business parking, and what happens with private parking.
  • What I control. Who may park, with which license plates, and what happens when someone leaves.
  • How it lands in the books. VAT on the invoice, and what can be exported.

What we refuse to be

  • SimplePark is not for people who want every feature. We add a feature when our audience needs it, not to win a comparison table.
  • SimplePark will never hide costs in a subscription, a tier or the small print.
  • SimplePark does not compete on being the cheapest at any cost. We compete on never surprising you.
  • SimplePark does not grow by getting harder to use. A feature that one customer needs is built so that everyone else doesn't notice it.
